This photo was taken in June 1951. At the time, Audie was a Captain in the Texas National Guard. The person on Audie's left is Lieutenant Colonel M. B. Etheredge, Jr., commander of the Special Training Battalion for the new recruits of the 36th Infantry Division. The photo was taken at a special training encampment at Camp Polk, Louisiana, where Captain Murphy conducted the bayonet drill and was the Ranger Officer for the Battalion.
