Just got through watching "To Hell and Back." Also looked on "Youtube" when Audie was on What's My Line. He was the same age as my mother and a real hero. May he truly rest in peace. God knows he deserves it.

So glad you're still up and running! Will be starting back in the spring semester (history, natch!) and expect to make good use of the info you have compiled.

Personal favorite: "Dirty old helmet, rusty old gun"

I will always recall Audie Murphy with fondness, I recall watching his movies
on Sunday mornings with my father. I am
a great fan, as was my father. Audie Murphy was a great hero and should always be remembered. I recall writing
a paper on Audie in 8th grade and getting an "A", the hardest part was finding his book. I still have that book
and its been over 25 years.

A true hero in the strictest sense of the word. An inspiration in a world where
role models are few or nonexistent. His
legacy will live forever.

Audie Leon Murphy, soldier,
Lone Star born and bred.
A hero honor bound,
His legacy will live, though dead.

I am just paying my respects to Audie. He should always be remembered like General Patton, and "Ike". People should always remember... to me Audie is kind of a spokes person for all that served in World War II, like my father whom had passed on in 2008. Audie, thank you for what you have done which represents all that didn't want to talk about what they had seen, "like my Father" until he neared his dying days. Thank you for your bravery & for being an inspiration to all.

It is a blessing to be able to sign this book. It is men like Audie Murphy who made America what it is and to whom we owe our greatest freedoms.

It is my great honor to sign this guest book to one of the greatest Americans that ever lived and to honor his memory. There were many heros in WW II - but none of them were like Audie Murphy. We must - as Americans - keep his memory alive and that of the thousands of soldiers that fought to preserve our freedom. May God Bless them all.

A real american hero. Auch seine Western finde ich gut. Schön das solche Persönlichkeiten verehrt und nicht vergessen werden. P.S. Es gab auch bei uns anständige Helden.

There is a lot of negative coming out of Hollywood now which is sad. However, we can look at Audie Murphy and be proud and eternally grateful for the service he gave to the USA. Very many of our younger generation do not know of him. My wish is that they will somehow learn about him and what he did for his country

It is times like we have today that we need selfless men like Audie. He was what it means to be an american. Nothing like the self absorbed types we have running around today. He was a true man of courage. One who was a real hero.

I voluntarily learned of Audie when I was a kid. The bad part was I learned about him to late to get to meet him. I have always been proud of our soldiers then and current helping when and where I can. Currently I am an Inactive USO volunteer but I am on a waiting list to be able to to to where ever they need me. I married 2 military and dated many other. Along with that, I do my own Help bu being there chatting with them when they need someone to talk to. I know it helps alot.
I know I am 46 now Audie will be my first and forever Soldier that I read and saw a movie based up on his war history. Even acting as himself. and am Proud to be here for our soldiers now.
I am glad a teacher took the time to make this memorial. The one thing I did not get the time to see was his memorial while I worked at the Pentagon.
