Audie Murphy was an extrordinary man as well as a great, war hero. He will always remain an important figure in our country's history. Every American should know about him. I, too, got to visit his and many, other nationally historic gravesites at Arlington National Cememtary.

He is an example of true patriotism. It warms my soul whenever I read the account of what he did to earn the Medal of Honor.
A true Hero.

Hi - I grew up watching Audie Murphy in western movies as a child. I loved him being the good guy. It really hurt when he died for I knew I'd never see him in another movie. I miss his smile but I know he is with God. Shirley

I have enjoyed Audies movies for years, and I knew that he was in the armed service. What I did not know was that besides being a good actor, he was a great man. The way the world is today, we need more people like Audie.
This is a good site and I will be coming back to it from time to time. May God bless all of us in this great country.

My father, also a WWII vet, was a fan of Audie Murphy as far back as I could remember. When I was little I thought it was because of those movies he made but as I got older I realized he watched those movies because he admired the man - and he admired the man for far more important reasons. His bravery, his courage and his integrity.

This is one celebrity truly worthy of the admiration.

My thanks to Mr. Murphy on the Veterans Day and everyday, for our freedom and for setting a real example for us all to follow.

Just a quick aside, something that always makes me smile. I was attending a film festival a few years ago and walked by a couple who had a little baby with them. The baby was so adorable I just had to comment on him and I was totally thrown off track when they said his name was Audie Murphy -------. I thought I'd misunderstood, but no. They assured me that really was his name. I was so tickled.

There's one family that definitely has not forgotten the man.....!

I have alswys admired what Audie Murphy did especially at such a young age. We need to keep his memmory alive. I have one son a Lt jg in the navy and another in college who will enter upon graduation and I have made them familiar with Audie as well.

Thanks for caring about the heroes such as Audie and our troops overseas today who allow us to live in freedom to this day.
